CALI Bylaw Amendments – Cast Your Vote Today!

Published on 11/29/2022

Dear Members:

In August, the CALI Board of Directors voted to change CALI’s fiscal year to a calendar year. With that change, it's necessary to amend specific Bylaws that pertain to important deadlines for a fiscal year ending in June, and to modify when directors and officers are elected. The Board also decided to extend the terms for all governors from one year to two years, matching the period for directors.

The CALI Bylaws Committee submitted four proposals to modify our Bylaws to conform with the new calendar year, which the Board approved on November 5, 2022, to present to the membership for review for two weeks before voting. To move forward with the change, the CALI Board of Directors recommends that the members vote on the four proposed Bylaw amendments listed below.

All Active and Life members are eligible voting members and can cast their vote* on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Voting ends Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 5:00 PM (PT).

The purpose of the proposed Bylaw amendments are:

  • Adopt a one-time bylaw that would expire (sunsets) on December 31, 2023. This is only done temporarily to align elections by calendar year. It means all officers, directors, and governors with expired terms on June 30, 2023, would serve an additional six months. The bylaw would extend for six months the terms of all officers, directors, and governors, ending on December 31, 2023 instead of June 30, 2023.

  • Modify the beginning dates and terms of all officers, directors and governors. All terms would begin on January 1, 2024 and end on December 31, 2025.

  • To extend the governor's terms to two years from one year to conform with the terms of office by their directors.

  • To modify the dates when elections start and end to conform with CALI’s new calendar year.

*If you are an eligible voting member and did not receive the electronic ballot by email on 11/29/2022, please email the CALI office.
