CALI Inland Empire District Special Event
Wednesday, November 29, 2023  •  6:00pm - 8:30pm

Join your fellow CALI Inland Empire District members for a Year End Holiday Special Event Featuring Networking Opportunities, Family Style Spaghetti Dinner, and a Special Presentation on "Exotic Car Losses" by David Bunch and Mathew Delisio. We will also have a Presentation of the CALI Inland Empire Distinguished Service Award to Paul Mason, CPI, Inland Empire District Governor.

We hope you can attend and share the evening with us! See below for event details.

Presentation Title:  Exotic Car Losses

Description:
This presentation will examine different kinds of exotic car losses via the presenters' experiences as investigators working for insurance carriers, finance companies, the buyer, the seller, and the dealership. The presentation will include losses due to theft, fraud, forgeries, collisions, fire and damage, or staged accidents. The presentation will feature several real-life examples that are designed to explore multiple facets of these ever increasing losses of high-end cars, including investigative steps to take for all types of losses. Some of the case examples will include appellate court cases that are frequently cited by insurance carriers to have cases dismissed for non-cooperation. The presentation aims to help the attendees recognize the many forms of fraud that occur with respect to exotic car losses involving insurance claims, exotic cars placed on consignment and sold, title theft, and the paths to recovery, either with or without the involvement of law enforcement.

About the Guest Speakers
David Bunch is a retired sheriff investigator who has been a PI for 41 years and has also worked as a researcher for the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons. He has had multiple cases which have been featured on 60 Minutes and Dateline. David Bunch has made multiple presentations at SCFIA and IASIU conferences.

Mathew Delisio has been a PI and recovery expert for 17 years, with multiple cases involving nationwide recoveries exceeding well over 100 million dollars in vehicles. Matthew has worked with law enforcement officials at all levels in multiple states and can guide the investigator through the many challenging steps to present the case to law enforcement as a criminal case rather than a "civil matter," which allows the vehicle to be entered into the system as stolen or with a vehicle license transfer stop.
