Presentation Description

In this presentation, we will explore the current state of AI and the significant challenges it presents when reviewing audio and video evidence. As technology advances, so do the risks of encountering falsified recordings, making it essential for investigators to understand how to protect themselves from being misled by manipulated media. Attendees will learn practical steps they can take to safeguard their investigations, including strategies for identifying altered content and best practices for working with experts when authentication is necessary. Through a series of compelling examples, we will demonstrate how AI can be used to manipulate original evidence, providing a clearer understanding of the potential pitfalls investigators may face.
