This page defines the terms and conditions between the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) and you when registering for any event or conference organized by CALI. Please read this entire page carefully. Registration submission affirms your acceptance of the CALI Event Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all event participants.
By registering for an event or conference organized by the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), each attendee, guest, sponsor, exhibitor, registrant, participant, paid service provider, volunteer, or Board member (collectively, "attendee" or "participant") is voluntarily participating in the event.
The California Association of Licensed Investigators reserves all rights for its events. No part of a CALI event production may be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted in any form or by any means, including photocopying, recording, or other electronic or mechanical methods, without the prior written permission of CALI.
A CALI event is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute legal or professional advice. Therefore, before acting based on any material contained in the event, the participant should obtain proper legal or other professional advice specific to their situation.
The views expressed by speakers or other third parties in CALI events, Webinars, mixers, and/or conferences are those of the speaker or third party and not necessarily, of CALI.
With regard to any information presented by a speaker or third-party at any CALI event, CALI does not make any warranty, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and specifically disclaims any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information, product, service or process presented and makes no representation that its use would not infringe upon privately owned rights.
Furthermore, the presentation of any material or information by a third party regarding any specific opinion, commercial product, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not constitute or imply CALI’s endorsement or recommendation of such opinion, process, service, item or organization. Any such material or information presented by a third-party in any format at a CALI event, without limitation, is for informational purposes only.
Assumption of Risk
As an attendee of the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) event, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in the event with knowledge of the dangers involved and that your attendance includes the possibility of exposure to and illness from the disease, including but not limited to COVID-19. By registering for a CALI event, you knowingly and freely agree to accept and assume all risks of injury, illness, disability, death, harm, and loss associated with or arising from your attendance at the event, whether caused by the negligence or conduct of CALI or any releasee hereunder.
Release and Waiver
As an attendee of the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) event, you expressly waive and release any and all claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature now known or hereafter known against CALI and its Officers, Directors, agents, staff, and affiliates (collectively, "releasees"), either in law or equity, and that this release is intended to be as broad and inclusive to the fullest extent permissible by law, including but not limited to damages or losses caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the releasees, including but not limited to illness, disability, death, economic loss or out of pocket expenses or loss or damage to property arising out of or attributable to your participation in and attendance at the event, whether caused by or arising out of the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind of CALI or any releasees. You covenant not to make or bring any claim, or your heirs, assignees, next of kin, and/or legally appointed or designated representative, may have or which may hereinafter accrue on your behalf against CALI or any releasee, and forever release and discharge CALI and all releasees from liability under such claims.
Indemnification
As an attendee of the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) event, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless CALI and all other releasees against any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, liabilities, and expenses of whatever kind, including attorney fees, brought as a result of your participation in the event and to enforce any indemnification right under this release, and to reimburse CALI and all releasees for any such expenses incurred.
Attendee Email Release Disclaimer
By registering for this event hosted by the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), I understand that CALI may share my email address with the event sponsors and attendees and agree to it. Furthermore, I acknowledge that I can opt-in and opt-out of communications from CALI by emailing
info@cali-pi.org. CALI Members can manage their communications preferences by login into their account at
www.cali-pi.org. It is emphasize that
CALI does not sell your information or the event attendee list. If you receive an email offering you the CALI member database or event attendee list, please do not respond and delete it immediately and report scammers to
the U.S. Federal Trade Commission fraud division.
Social Media Disclaimer
The views and opinions expressed on CALI's social media sites and links to other Internet resources do not necessarily represent those of CALI. CALI cannot be held responsible for the accuracy, opinions, or reliability of information posted or re-posted content by external parties.
Photo/Video Release Disclaimer
Photographs and videos of attendees may be taken at CALI events. By registering for this event, the registrant grants full permission to CALI to take any and all photographs, video, or any other record (collectively, "images") of the registrant in connection with this event and to copyright, use, and publish the images or video format for any lawful purpose with or without the attendee's knowledge. Additionally, the registrant consents to having their image and likeness used in CALI promotional material, including but not limited to the
CALI Journal, event marketing materials, social media, other printed and electronic publications, and the CALI website. The registrant agrees that CALI is not responsible for the unauthorized use of the images. Registrant acknowledges that they are not entitled to compensation and that the images may appear with or without the registrant's name.
Photo/Video Consent Clause
Registration and attendance or participation at the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI) events constitute an agreement by the attendee to permit CALI to use the attendee’s, likeness and voice in photographs and electronic reproductions of such events and activities hosted by CALI, including but not limited to the venue, sponsors, and the host city.
