Featured Presenter – Dale Banda

Dale Banda is a former Deputy Commissioner/Fraud Chief with the California Department of Insurance (CDI) Enforcement  Branch (retired). He has over 37 years of investigative experience, which includes 28 years with law enforcement, 20 years of supervision/management, and 8 years at the executive level with CDI. As a Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Banda oversaw all criminal/regulatory investigative activities involving the Fraud and Investigation Divisions. In addition, Mr. Banda oversaw all local assistance district attorney programs and made grant funding recommendations to the Insurance Commissioner. Mr. Banda has extensive knowledge of California insurance regulations and statutes, specifically in the area of Special Investigative Unit and investigative operations.

As the Chief Operations Officer for J.D. Wesson & Associates, Inc. since 2009, Mr. Banda is responsible for all statewide investigative and training operations within the company. He manages and oversees all lines of insurance investigations, both private and commercial lines, including vendor management, loss prevention, and program development. Mr. Banda oversees and formulates policies relevant to Special Investigative Unit (SIU) investigations, including anti-fraud strategies and compliance reporting. Additionally, he provides training to clients in claim investigations, anti-fraud, ethics, and supervision/management techniques. 

Mr. Banda has been a past presenter at the CALI Annual Conference, where he lectured on Understanding California SIU Regulations and Compliance.

Mr. Banda will speak at the California Annual Anti-Fraud Conference in April 2023 in Monterey, CA, sponsored by the Anti-Fraud Alliance, California District Attorneys Association, National Insurance Crime Bureau, and California Department of Insurance.

Registration Fee
$99 for CALI Members
$129 for Non-Members

Registration fee includes continental breakfast, snacks, and drinks. Lunch is not included.

 
Certificate of Completion
A Certificate of Completion be issued to each participant at the end of the training. Four CPI Credits will be awarded for this training.

Cancellation Policy
All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing no later than Friday, January 13, 2023, by email to the CALI office at info@cali-pi.org. A $25 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after Friday, January 13, 2023, and no refunds for no-show registrants.

Because the lot at the Walnut Creek Library is public, CALI cannot guarantee free parking and availability for our attendees. However, alternate parking options are available in several areas near the library.  See below or click here for additional information. We will take breaks throughout the training to allow attendees to feed their parking meters. All of the meters will accept credit and debit cards.
